Sorority Raises $2,300 for Autism Charity

New Mexico Highlands’ Nu Eta sorority raised $2,300 for an autism charity April 18 during a fundraiser walk.
Nearly 150 people joined members of the sorority for a walk benefiting Autism Speaks in Perkins Stadium, and several others made financial donations. Autism affects one in every 110 children and one in every 70 boys. This is the fastest growing serious developmental disability in the U.S.
“Its very sad to say but there is no cure for Autism,” said Vanessa Torres, who helped coordinate the event. “We would like to thank everyone who participated to make this event happen.”
