HU Names Eric Young New Head Football Coach

Highlands Athletics is pleased to announce the hiring of Eric Young as their next head football coach. Young comes to Highlands from the College of the Siskiyous located in Weed, Calif. Young has been the head coach of the Siskiyous Eagles for the past six seasons.

"I'm excited to get started. This is a great opportunity to turn this program around and bring back the tradition of winning to Highlands football," Young said.

The gallery is located on the first floor and is open 8 a.m.- 5 p.m., Monday-Friday and 1-5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, when classes are in session.

Cowgirls Upend Orediggers 54-51

The Highlands Cowgirls ran past the Orediggers of the Colorado School of Mines on 1/2 by a final score of 54-51 in Golden, Colo. The Cowgirls and the Orediggers would battle throughout the entire game, but it would all come down to some clutch free throws by Briana Gholston in the final minutes that would seal the win for the Cowgirls. With the win, the Cowgirls improve to 5-8 on the season and 2-5 in RMAC play.

Cowboys Cage Cougars 79-62

The Highlands Cowboys got back on track on 1/3 as they made short work of the Colorado Christian Cougars by a final score of 79-62 in Lakewood, Colo. The Cowboys had fallen to Orediggers of the Colorado School of Mines on 1/2 by a final score of 95-76 in the first leg of their two game road swing. The Cowboys would finish with two players in double digits on the night en route to their tenth win of the season. With the win, the Cowboys are now 10-2 on the season and 6-2 in RMAC play.

Cowboys Fall to Chadron State in First RMAC Dual

The Highlands Cowboy wrestling team fell to the Eagles of Chadron State College 34-15 in their first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference dual of the season. The Cowboys lone win of the night would come in the 133 pound weight class as Donovan Troup would defeat CSC's Josh McCance with a 9-2 decision. With the loss, the Cowboys are now 0-1 in RMAC duals on the season.
