Jamie Baca stacks books in the Highlands University bookstore in the university’s new Student Center at 8th and National. Baca, a 23-year-old social work sophomore from Las Vegas, said she loves the way the bookstore is so open and filled with light. The bookstore, atrium and convenience store on the first floor of the building are open, with the remainder of the building slated to open later this spring.
