Concentration Descriptions

The four areas of concentration are:

  • Clinical Practice – will provide advanced clinical skills and knowledge to be an effective clinical practitioner to work with individuals, families and groups from diverse backgrounds.
  • Bilingual/Bicultural Clinical Practice – will provide the student with social work clinical skills necessary to work with Spanish speaking individuals, groups, and families in a bilingual/bicultural setting.
  • Leadership & Administration – will prepare students for leadership and professional careers in federal, state and local government and private and nonprofit organizations. This concentration will focus on course content in the areas of policy analysis, management, budgeting, finance, human resource development, economics and research.
  • Dual Degrees MSW/MBA – will prepare students for leadership and professional careers in federal, state, and local government, private, and non-profit organizations. This concentration will focus on course content in the areas of policy, analysis, management, budgeting, finance, human resource development, economics and research. The student can then continue on into the School of Business and complete an MBA for a total of seven semesters.
