Where can I get vaccinated?  Go to vaccineNM.org to schedule an appointment.

Does NMHU require faculty, staff, and students to be vaccinated?
Per Highlands’ administrative mandate on vaccinations, all students, faculty, staff and administrators must upload proof of vaccination or register an exemption. The deadline for doing so was Aug. 20, however, if you have not done so, it must be completed immediately. The upload form is on the Self Service Banner homepage, accessible through the Self-Service Banner at : https://banss.nmhu.edu/ssomanager/c/SSB?pkg=wwgkilib.P_COVIDVacPage.

Anyone working or studying on campus who does not obtain a vaccination must submit an updated COVID test to the form every two weeks.

I am trying to get vaccinated, but I need to wait for the first or second shot. What do I do?
Still go to the vaccine and testing verification site found on Self Service Banner: https://banss.nmhu.edu/ssomanager/c/SSB?pkg=wwgkilib.P_COVIDVacPage and indicate where you are in the process. You can update your status at any time on that site.

What if there are changes regarding my vaccination status?
Understanding that testing and vaccination timing is likely beyond the control of most people, you should still go to this website and answer to the best of your ability the question there now – even if past deadline. You may always return to this page when your status changes, i.e. you do get vaccinated, etc. and upload new information (the most current entry will overwrite any previous submissions). The vaccine and testing verification site is found on the Highlands Self Service Banner page: https://banss.nmhu.edu/ssomanager/c/SSB?pkg=wwgkilib.P_COVIDVacPage

I received my vaccination in another country. What can I do to prove that? International students vaccinated with a vaccine from the World Health Organization Emergency Use List (this list includes the AstraZeneca vaccine) may submit documentation of that vaccination. It is recommended these students be  revaccinated again upon arrival in New Mexico using an FDA-listed vaccine and subsequently submit documentation of that vaccination.

I have health issues or object on religious grounds to being vaccinated. May I get an exemption? Yes, you may. We will need a medical provider document to provide that exemption for health issues; or we will need a statement from you stating you object on religious grounds:

Students: Submit your signed statement at the vaccine and testing verification site on Highlands’ Self Service Banner page: https://banss.nmhu.edu/ssomanager/c/SSB?pkg=wwgkilib.P_COVIDVacPage.

Employees: contact HR for instructions hr@nmhu.edu.

I do not plan to be on campus at all. Do I have to do anything?
Even if you have no plans to be on campus, i.e. teaching remotely, taking distance (online) classes only, etc. You still need to go to the Vaccine and Testing Verification site Highlands’ Self Service Banner page and tell us that: https://banss.nmhu.edu/ssomanager/c/SSB?pkg=wwgkilib.P_COVIDVacPage

Can I upload a picture of my vaccination card?
Yes, pictures, a jpeg, a PDF, or anything that can be uploaded in a clearly identifiable format can be used when you to go to the vaccine and testing verification site on Highlands’ Self Service Banner page and acknowledge you have been vaccinated: https://banss.nmhu.edu/ssomanager/c/SSB?pkg=wwgkilib.P_COVIDVacPage

I was vaccinated but lost or misplaced my card. What do I do ?
While your vaccine card is the only official record you have personally, it is not the only place your vaccine history is logged as all your vaccinations are recorded electronically. If you lose your card, the CDC recommends first contacting your vaccine provider where you received your first shot. If you are unable to contact them, contact the New Mexico Department of Health’s immunization information system (IIS) at:

Call: 800.280.1618
Web: www.vaxviewnm.org
Email: DOH-HelpDesk-Main@state.nm.us

I need to test as I do not plan to be vaccinated or am in the process of being vaccinated. Where can I get tested?
Highlands does not test, pay for, or provide transportation to test sites. Testing locations can be found at  https://findatestnm.org/. There are also several different versions of home tests. Remember to return to the vaccine and testing verification site on Highlands’ Self Service Banner page to upload your test results once received.

Additionally, a positive test should immediate be reported to EOC@nmhu.edu, and follow all instructions from the EOC.

What can I do if I just want to check if I am positive?
The NMDOH  has Vault at-home tests for surveillance testing: https://learn.vaulthealth.com/nm/. New Mexicans can order tests to be delivered to their home at no cost. To be able to use the Vault tests, a person needs access to the internet, an email address, and a photo ID.
