Aaron Juarros’ cast bronze piece, ‘Found,’ is part of an art exhibit on display through Oct. 1 in Burris Hall. Juarros, who completed his MFA in sculpture at the prestigious Edinburgh College of Art, was named the Highlands University distinguished young alumnus for 2010.
The Las Vegas 175th Anniversary Celebration Art Show at Burris Hall opens with a free public reception Sept. 24 from 5 — 7 p.m. at 903 National Ave.
The multi-media art show features the work of 18 local artists as well as the Highlands University Fine Arts faculty and students. Well known local artist Nacho Jaramillo curated the show, and his work is also included.
The local musical trio, SEA, featuring Carl Bernstein on guitar, will play at the reception.
The art show will be on display through Oct. 1.
